Es acompañamiento para preparar certificaciones profesionales de seguridad como OSCP, CISSP, CISA y equivalentes: plan de estudio, laboratorios guiados, resolución de dudas, simulacros de examen y método de trabajo. Conviene decirlo sin rodeos: CyberRed prepara, no certifica. El examen y el título los emite el organismo que corresponda.

Coaching to prepare for professional security certifications such as OSCP, CISSP, CISA and equivalents: study plan, guided labs, doubt resolution, mock exams and working method. Worth saying plainly: CyberRed prepares candidates, it does not certify them. The exam and the credential come from the relevant awarding body.

¿Para qué se usa?What is it used for?

Sirve para no perder meses ni la tasa del examen. Estas certificaciones tienen una tasa de reprobación alta y el motivo rara vez es falta de conocimiento: es método, gestión del tiempo y no saber qué nivel de profundidad espera cada examen. Un acompañamiento con alguien que ya pasó por ahí acorta el camino y evita presentarse antes de tiempo.

It saves months and the exam fee. These certifications have a high failure rate and the reason is rarely lack of knowledge: it is method, time management and not knowing what depth each exam expects. Coaching from somebody who has been through it shortens the path and prevents sitting the exam too early.

  • Ninguna ley costarricense exige certificaciones profesionales de seguridad para ejercer.
  • Sí aparecen como requisito en licitaciones públicas y privadas, y en los criterios de idoneidad que las entidades supervisadas usan para justificar quién ocupa las funciones de ciberseguridad que ahora se declaran en el perfil tecnológico.
  • No Costa Rican law requires professional security certifications to practise.
  • They do appear as requirements in public and private tenders, and in the suitability criteria supervised entities use to justify who holds the cybersecurity functions now declared in the technology profile.

InternacionalInternational

  • PCI-DSS reserva ciertos roles de evaluación a personal acreditado por el consejo de la norma, aunque eso es una acreditación distinta de estas certificaciones profesionales.
  • ISO 27001 exige competencia demostrable de quien tiene responsabilidades de seguridad, y una certificación es una forma habitual de demostrarla, no la única.
  • Muchos contratos internacionales y programas de recompensa por vulnerabilidades exigen certificación del personal que ejecuta las pruebas.
  • PCI-DSS reserves certain assessment roles for personnel accredited by the standard's council, though that is a different accreditation from these professional certifications.
  • ISO 27001 requires demonstrable competence from those holding security responsibilities, and a certification is a common way to demonstrate it, not the only one.
  • Many international contracts and bug bounty programmes require certification of the staff running the tests.

Requisitos mínimosMinimum requirements

  • Una evaluación honesta del punto de partida: certificar a alguien sin base no es preparación, es hacerle perder la tasa.
  • Horas de estudio reservadas todas las semanas. Sin eso no hay acompañamiento que sirva.
  • La suscripción o el material oficial del organismo emisor, que corre por cuenta del candidato o de la empresa.
  • Un laboratorio propio o de la firma donde practicar, sobre todo en las certificaciones prácticas.
  • An honest assessment of the starting point: coaching somebody without foundations is not preparation, it is wasting their fee.
  • Study hours blocked out every week. Without them no coaching helps.
  • The awarding body's official subscription or materials, paid by the candidate or the company.
  • A personal or company lab to practise in, especially for the hands-on certifications.

El rango habitual va de tres a nueve meses según la certificación y la base previa. Las de gestión con examen de opción múltiple caen en el extremo bajo si la persona ya tiene años de experiencia; las prácticas, con examen de laboratorio de varias horas, se van al extremo alto porque exigen cientos de horas de máquina. Nadie serio promete un plazo fijo aquí.

The usual range runs three to nine months depending on the certification and prior grounding. Management ones with multiple-choice exams land at the low end when the candidate already has years of experience; hands-on ones, with multi-hour lab exams, reach the top because they demand hundreds of hours at the keyboard. Nobody serious promises a fixed timeline here.

OSCPOSCP
Certificación práctica de pentesting: el examen es un laboratorio de varias horas donde hay que comprometer máquinas reales. A hands-on penetration testing certification: the exam is a multi-hour lab where real machines must be compromised.
CISSPCISSP
Certificación de gestión de seguridad de la información, orientada a responsables y no a técnicos de trinchera. An information security management certification, aimed at leaders rather than hands-on technicians.
CISACISA
Certificación de auditoría de sistemas de información, muy pedida en banca y en el sector supervisado. An information systems audit certification, much in demand in banking and the supervised sector.
Organismo emisorIssuing body
La entidad que diseña el examen y otorga el título. Es independiente de quien imparte la preparación. The body that designs the exam and awards the credential. It is independent from whoever delivers the preparation.
CPECPE
Las horas de formación continua que hay que acumular cada año para mantener vigente una certificación. The continuing education hours that must be accumulated each year to keep a certification valid.
